High Court of Karnataka Issues Appointments to SCIC and SIC Posts
- The Karnataka High Court has ruled that the appointments to the State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC) and seven State Information Commissioners (SICs) are subject to the final outcome of a petition.
- The Supreme Court’s 2019 judgment in the case of Anjali Bhardwaj and Others vs. Union of India.
- The court adjourned further hearing until February 10 to ascertain if the government adhered to the court’s directions.

- SCIC: Retired IPS officer Ashit Mohan Prasad.
- SICs: Retired IAS officer Mamatha B.R., journalists Rajashekara S., Badruddin K., Rudranna Harthikote, and others.
Tourism Department Approves 27 Private Investment Projects
- The High Level Tourism ILA Committee approved 27 private investment projects worth Rs 2,793 crore.
- The projects include an air dome near Kempegowda International Airport and the construction of the Taj Hotel in Hampi.
- All projects are approved under the Parliamentary Tourism Policy 2020-26.
- Creating 4000 direct employment opportunities. Creation is expected.
- The Vijayanagar district administration has written to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for funding for the Hampi sound-light festival.
- Other projects include a large motel, well-equipped Vir Sammelana, and activities near Kempegowda Anta National Airport.
- A subsidy of at least 13% or up to 5 crores will be given for investments above 10 crores.
