Sharavati Project Threatens Western Ghats

TS Sathyavathi Receives First Purandara Award

  • TS Sathyavathi, a Carnatic vocalist, has received the first Purandara Award her guru, RK Srikantan, received from the Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha in Bengaluru.
  • Sathyavathi’s music career began as a child, performing for the Maharani of Mysore. She pursued an M.Phil degree in Sanskrit from Bangalore University and later topped her Vidwat in Carnatic classical music..
  • She has participated in competitions for Sanskrit, on the Ramayana, devotional and patriotic songs, and sampradaya songs akin to jaanapada (folk) during festivals and occasions.

• She has chosen verses that depict almost all the rasas such as Shrungara, Haasya, Karuna, Veerya, Adbuta and Rowdra.

Karnataka Games: 4 athletics golds for Mysore

  • Karnataka Games 2025 (Karnataka Olympic) held in Udupi and Mangalore.
