Sharavati Project Threatens Western Ghats
- Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCFs) of Sharavati Wildlife Sanctuary recommend 134 acres of forest for the ‘Sharavati Pumped Storage’ project by the Karnataka Power Corporation (KPC).

- The project is expected to kill 15,000 endangered and rare trees, causing significant damage to biodiversity.

TS Sathyavathi Receives First Purandara Award
