“Land Bank” System in Villages

Context & Announcement:

  • Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced a new Land Bank system to ensure every homeless family in rural areas gets access to a housing site.

Key Objectives:

  • Create a Land Bank in every village to:
    • Provide housing sites for landless rural families.
    • Address long-pending rural housing issues.
  • Enhance livelihood and living standards in rural areas.

Implementation Strategy:

  • Survey of Homeless Families: Identify eligible beneficiaries.
  • Land Identification: Create a village-wise inventory of government-owned or acquired land for the Land Bank.
