  • 14 problem statements provided directly by ISRO
  • Participants choose one challenge to work on

SWR’s Solar Energy Achievement – FY 2024–25

Key Highlights

  • Savings: ₹4 crore saved in electricity bills
  • Power Generated: 72 million units (MU)
  • Growth: 18.1% increase from the previous year
  • Aim: Supports Indian Railways’ goal to become 100% green by 2030

🔹 Hubballi Division

  • New addition: 487 kWp (FY 2024–25)
  • Total installed capacity: 3,036 kWp

🔹 Bengaluru Division

  • New additions:
    • MEMU Shed Banaswadi – 85 kWp
    • DRM Office
  • Total capacity: 1,473 kWp
  • Annual saving: ₹9.5 lakh

🔹 Mysuru Division

  • Added: 55 kWp
  • Total capacity: 887 kWp

Suraksha Project – Suicide Prevention Initiative

Implemented By:

  • NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences)
  • In collaboration with:
    • Government of Karnataka
    • Himalaya Wellness Company

Objective:

  • Build a community-based suicide prevention network
  • Train ‘gatekeepers’ (community-level stakeholders) to:
    • Identify early warning signs of suicide/self-harm
    • Provide empathetic first-line support
    • Refer individuals to mental health services

Targeted Gatekeepers:

  • Police personnel
  • Teachers
  • Anganwadi workers
  • Other frontline community workers

Latest Update – Bengaluru South District:

  • Gatekeeper training started for Anganwadi workers
  • Follows successful training of 700+ police personnel (previous month)

Key Statements:

    • Anganwadi workers are well-connected, trusted, and have close ties with families
    • Positioned to identify distress early and provide help
