2. Key Features of the Waste Management Plan
4 Package Implementation
- Waste disposal in 100-acre zones across four directions of Bengaluru.
Management of Heritage Waste
- 82 lakh tonnes of accumulated waste to be processed.
- Mandur Phase-1: 60 lakh tonnes through biomining.
- Bellahalli Unit: Bioremediation for waste treatment.
Swachh Bharat Nagar 2.0 Implementation
- 07 lakh tonnes of waste managed under this scheme.
- Sites covered: Mandur Phase-2, Mavallipura, Doddabidarakallu, Lakshmipur, Bingipur, Subbarayanapalya.
- Funded by ₹187 crore from central, state, and BBMP resources.
Construction & Debris Waste Management
- 4,500 metric tonnes of debris waste generated daily.
- Current capacity: 1,750 metric tonnes treated in 2 operational units.
3 additional waste collection & transport units to be set up under PPP model (Private-Public Partnership).
